Changes in M.V. Act from 1st october 2020

Point wise UPDATES on CHANGES BEEN MADE TO THE NEW TRAFFIC RULES:

  • Now onwards you will be able to maintain your documents on mobile apps preventing you from carrying baggage of physical vehicle related documentation including D.L.. Also the documents will be safe and threat of losing them will not be there. If in case of request from a traffic police to show documents you can show them the soft copies of the vehicle related documents

 

  • Now there will be no physical verification of documents related to vehicles. So if traffic authorities needs to revoke the D.L. it will be done through these online portals.

 

  • As per ministry’s official announcement the vehicle driver’s behavior would be observed and police authorities identity will also be updated every time a driver or vehicle is inspected on road. The record will be maintained and uploaded on these online portals.

 

  • All documents list are notified by ministry which can be maintained online on govt’s DIGI locker are D. L., registration certificate of vehicle (RC) etc.  

 

  • From now onwards vehicle drivers will be able to use any handheld communication devices like map navigation devices or smartphones for route navigation purposes ensuring driver’s proper concentrating on driving on road.

Starting from 1st October 2020 Motorists across India will not be needed to carry any original copies of their vehicle related documents like driving license or any other documents. These new rules and amendments in C.M.V. Rules 1989 are notified and announced by the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH). Now onwards ministry has assigned few online portals where people can upload and maintain their all vehicle related documents and can be shown to the traffic authorities if required and requested.

 

As per the notification now you can maintain all vehicle related documents on mParivahan and DIGILOCKER. Moreover in case of any action undertaken by traffic authority on law violator would reflect on their digital report. These online portals shall keep records of any disqualification or in case of revocation of D.L. to keep the behavior of habitual rash drivers in check.
